Injury Recovery Starter Kit

Suggested Protocol:

The following is a suggested protocol for using your kit. The order of events outlined here is our suggestion, but you can alter it based on your circumstances and schedule.

Day 1-5

Apply Muscle & Joint Therapeutic Patch. Wear for 12 hours then discard. Repeat daily for the next 4 days. It can be worn during the day or at night whichever is best for your schedule.

Day 6 plus

If you purchased multiple mild kits, wear additional patches as needed until the pain is gone.

Apply a Therapeutic Recovery Cream daily until your supply runs out. We recommend applying it on the injured area 3-4 times throughout the course of the day when you don’t have a patch on the body.

During the recovery process, it is good to start doing light stretching movements to improve range of motion as long as it isn’t painful. Once you begin to regain mobility and pain lessens, start strengthening movements to help build strength and flexibility.

Suggested Protocol:

The following is a suggested protocol for using your kit. The order of events outlined here is our suggestion, but you can alter it based on your circumstances and schedule.

Apply Recovery Wrap treatment 1. Wear for 12 hours (typically overnight) then discard paste.  Watch the Recovery Wrap Application Video for additional details.

Apply Recovery Wrap treatment 2. Wear for 12 hours (typically overnight) then discard paste. Use the Recovery Spray between treatments 5-10 sprays, 3 to 4 times during the day or as schedule permits.

If you purchased multiple Moderate Kits continue to do treatments with the Recovery Wrap.

Once Recovery Wrap treatments are complete, apply the Therapeutic Muscle & Joint Patch each day until your supply runs out. Use the included Recovery Spray as needed.

While the Recovery Wrap will typically feel good while it is on, the main benefit comes a few days to a few weeks after removal. The wrap helps to boost your body’s circulation. Once your body is functioning more properly, it can proceed more efficiently with the recovery process.

The Muscle and Joint Patch and the Recovery Spray both augment the effects of the Recovery Wrap.

The patches contain the same ingredients as the Recovery Wrap and are great to use as you start to resume exercise.

The Recovery Cream can be applied anytime during the recovery process to augment the healing process.

If you feel well enough to return to training, we recommend that you do so, but do so with caution. Don’t overstress the injury too soon. Even if it is feeling good, your body is still likely working through the healing process. If you do return to training, use the Therapeutic Recovery Cream before and after to help alleviate stress.

If injured, do the following while waiting for your treatment kit to arrive

If it is within the first 48 hours of an injury and you don’t have QiVantage products, it is OK to ice the area. Icing for 15 minutes at a time for the first two days of an injury can help keep internal swelling down. This is helpful, in that swelling slows down healing and typically is the cause of the pain.

When icing, don’t put the ice directly on the skin – use a bag with a cloth or rag as a barrier. You want to chill the injured area, but not so much that you freeze healthy skin tissue (thus limit to 15-20 minutes at a time)

Note: Once the 48-hour mark is reached, don’t ice. Since ice slows circulation it can hinder recovery in the long term. Only use it to decrease initial swelling.

If it has been over two days since the injury, use heat on the area.  When using heat, don’t put the heat pack directly on the skin – use a bag with a cloth or rag as a barrier. You want to warm the injured area, but not so much that you burn healthy skin tissue (thus limit to 15-20 minutes at a time).

You can continue to use heat therapy after you receive your order arrives but it is not necessary.  The general rule is if you feel it helps continue doing it.
